Chengdu IFS Unveils “THE PANDA GALAXY” for Creativity That Heats up the Winter

Chengdu, China, December 1, 2023 – Seeking to inspire passion and creativity that heats up the lazy winter, Chengdu IFS, the city’s landmark urban complex, today proudly unveiled “THE PANDA GALAXY”, a creative installation that invites visitors to ride their imagination, roam the space and explore the unknown.

A cute and creative installation that points to the sky, “THE PANDA GALAXY” highlights a unique galactic space that’s inspired by the Planet Panda at the B2 atrium of Chengdu IFS. In an imagined universe, delicate golden lines outline a roaring rocket that’s flying towards twinkling stars and floating galaxies. Several cute panda heads are playfully greeting earthlings, translating their cute look into the most effective way of communication. Fitted with reflective surfaces, the floor adds a three-dimensional feel to the installation, impressing visitors with mind-blowing creativity from different angles.

At 3PM on December 1, Digital Panda, a native of the Planet Panda, made a successful landing at Chengdu IFS, greeting locals in a holographic form. It also sent an ambassador to Chengdu for close range interaction with the city and its residents. Following the appearance of the two Planet Panda natives, “THE PANDA GALAXY” was officially unveiled to kick off friendly exchanges between the imaginary planet and our home planet.

With the launch of “THE PANDA GALAXY”, Chengdu IFS is also joining forces with Eight Light Minutes, the city’s innovative sci-fi publisher, to invite renowned sci-fi author A Que, winner of the CHINESE NEBULA AWARDS and the GALAXY AWARDS, and Luo Xia, editor of The Space-Time Painter that has won the HUGO AWARD for Best Novelette, for online presentation of sci-fi creativity, as a way of inspiring public interest in exploring the universe. In addition, the public can also join in “THE PANDA GALAXY” social media discussion to write down the secrets they want to share with the starry sky – contributors of quality content will not only have an opportunity to receive comments from A Que or Luo Xia, but also win a super prize package that includes a trip to the “alien base” and the privilege of naming an exclusive asteroid. Chengdu IFS believes that such public participation and contribution can help further enliven the Planet Panda journey and bring more excitement that lasts the whole winter.
